Despite the dreadful storms and heavy rain that continue to cause havoc in the south west of England, spring is nearly upon us. It might be hard to believe but it won’t be long before our parks will be full of daffodils once again, the days will at last be longer and the skies calm once more. It can’t come soon enough. And when it does, what spring fashions will we be wearing?
A new season is a great excuse to buy some new clothes. Bonmarche is already beginning to sell some lovely fashions suitable for spring and there will be lots more in stores over the next few months.
You can expect to see lots of beautiful feminine colours: pastels, pinks, blues and, in keeping with the time of year, paisley and floral designs. Dresses and skirts will be long and floaty in flowery prints. Maxi lengths are definitely making a comeback and already Bonmarche has a number of gorgeous maxi dresses on sale. The David Emanuel blue paisley print knot front maxi is really lovely and already popular.
In fact, all of the David Emanuel’s jersey wrap dresses are perfect for those brighter days. If you aren’t sure about wearing maxi dresses, his knee length blue paisley jersey wrap dress might be more your style. It’s a really pretty blue and is something you could wear could wear for a lunch out with friends, on holiday or even to work.
No spring wardrobe would be complete without a lightweightblouse or two and we have some lovely, floaty ones for you to buy. There are plenty of gorgeous blue flowery prints but if you prefer a darker colour, there are some striking black and white designs too.
If flowers aren’t your thing, how about some animal prints? They are much more subtle than they used to be. Forget Bett Lynch’s leopard print leotards! The animal print has evolved into something much more sophisticated and is just right for a spring wardrobe. You can choose from tops and blouses as well as dresses or lightweight scarveswhich look great over a plain T-shirt or blouse worn with jeans.
If the weather is a little cold as it is bound to be, this being Britain, after all, you will definitely need a lightweight, water resistant coat. The Bonmarche swing jacket is a must. It is beautifully designed, a lovely shape and very flattering. It’s a snip too, at only £35.
Finally, no spring wardrobe would be complete without some new lacy undies. Go on, treat yourself!
